Alan Bartlett has resigned as head of manager research at Hymans Robertson, the Glasgow-based actuaries and consultants, in order to become head of UK manager research at Aon Consulting.

His appointment is a coup for Aon's thrusting investment consulting chief Adrian Swales, who is working hard to rebuild his firm's reputation after his arrival from William M Mercer.
