Research firms $35bn apart on hedge fund tally

Two prominent Hedge fund data providers have published contradictory reports about the inflows of capital into hedge funds in the second quarter of this year.

Tass Research, a subsidiary of Tremont Capital Management, the hedge fund advisory firm, said on Tuesday that investors put a record $43bn (€35bn) into hedge funds in the three months ending June 30, representing the fifth consecutive record quarter. It said the first quarter had seen inflows of $38bn.
