Reuters starts on the road to recovery

Analysts are predicting that Reuters, the global news and information company, has reached the end of a recession and is finally on the road to recovery.

The good news comes on the back of a slowdown in cancellations of subscriptions to its core products, Reuters 3000 Xtra, the news service, and Bridge Station, which are used by investment banks, brokers and fund managers. Subscriptions to these products account for 93% of Reuters' revenue, but cancellation levels reached a record 11% in the fourth quarter of last year as staff numbers at Reuters' core clients fell.
