Revolut applies for US banking licence following Canada exit

Revolut has applied for a full banking licence in the US, filing a draft application in California which would allow the startup to expand its services across all 50 states.

The digital bank is seeking to add to its portfolio of financial licences in the UK and EU, where it is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Bank of Lithuania. An application is underway to expand its UK e-money licence to a full banking authorisation, enabling the startup to begin lending in the country.
