Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer confirmed he wanted to close loopholes for “super rich” private equity bosses as he clashed with prime minister Rishi Sunak in the first televised debate of the general election campaign.

“The super rich should be paying their tax,” Starmer said in the head-to-head broadcast on ITV on 4 June.
