Rishi Sunak extends furlough and business loans for an extra month

Businesses will now be able to access the government support schemes until the end of April

The government’s furlough scheme is to be extended until the end of April 2021, the chancellor has announced, as the impact of the pandemic continues to affect businesses.

Businesses that are struggling will now have until the end of March to access government loan schemes, while the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme — also known as furlough — will be in place for an extra month.
