River and Mercantile CEO steps back in favour of deputy

Mike Faulkner will stay with the business as head of macro strategies

The top two executives at River and Mercantile, a £36bn asset manager, have shuffled positions, with group chief executive Mike Faulkner stepping back in favour of his deputy.

The switch means that James Barham, who led the River and Mercantile Asset Management business before its 2014 merger with pensions management business P-Solve, and became deputy group chief executive thereafter, will step up to the top job.
