Baillie Gifford has made three members of staff partners, including Leslie Robb, who joined the firm only last year after leaving Aberdeen Asset Management by mutual agreement.
Robb became part of Aberdeen when it took over Murray Johnstone, and was made chief investment officer of the combined firm. However, his skills in controlling the investment process were seen as less likely to appeal to the independent financial advisers that distribute Aberdeen's products to the retail market. Katherine Garrett-Cox was appointed in his place.
