Asset Alliance Corporation, a New York based alternative investment firm with $4bn (€3.2bn) of assets under management, has hired Ed Robertiello from Blackstone, the private equity group, as a senior managing director of investment and research.

Robertiello has 15 years experience in investment management. At Blackstone he was managing director responsible for identification and selection of managers for the $8bn fund of hedge funds affiliate, Blackstone Alternative Asset Management.
