Roger Yates to become chairman of Electra

Veteran of the investment management industry takes top board role at private equity firm on the back of a record year for deals

Roger Yates, the former chief executive of Henderson Global Investors and one of the biggest names in fund management, is to become chairman of Electra Private Equity, which today reported a record year for dealmaking.

Yates will succeed Colette Bowe, who will retire from the board at Electra's annual general meeting in March 2014, Electra said in a statement accompanying its full-year results.
