Storied advisory firm Rothschild and investment bank Jefferies have reported the highest gender pay gaps in UK finance, just days before a government-imposed deadline for revealing the numbers.

The groups are the only City firms to have so far reported median gender pay gaps of more than 50%. All firms operating in the UK with more than 250 staff must report their numbers before April 5.
