Rothschild bolsters Japanese and European divisions

NM Rothschild is strengthening its credentials as a global investment bank with five senior appointments in Japan and continental Europe.

The biggest hiring is Masahiro Sasaki, who joins as head of investment banking and will lead a drive into the Japanese mergers and acquisitions market. The bank, whose presence in the country has largely been confined to asset management, has plans to recruit more bankers in Tokyo as Japanese M&A picks up.
