Rothschild, the independent advisory firm, has brought forward the payment of bonuses by three months, a move thought to be linked to changes to the UK tax system that are due to come into force next week.

Rothschild is understood to have started communicating with bankers about bonus payments at the beginning of last week, according to a source familiar with the situation. Payments are set for March 31, according to another source familiar with the situation.
