Rothschild helps M&S on French withdrawal

Rothschild advised Marks & Spencer on the proposed sale of its 18 French stores to Groupe Galeries Lafayette, the Anglo-French bank's first deal for the the former flagship UK retailer in over 10 years.

Rothschild is handling the sale jointly out of Paris and London, led by Robert Leitao, a London managing director, and Jean-Claude Meyer, a general partner in Paris.
