Rothschild has appointed a former chief executive of Rolls-Royce as deputy chairman of its international operating company, as the independent investment bank looks to further develop its global profile.

Sir John Rose has joined the board of Rothschild's Continuation Holdings, the international operating company within the group, as deputy chairman, with effect from October 1.
