Rothschild has won its first mandate from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, advising the Indian pharmaceuticals company on its €480m ($570m) acquisition of German rival Betapharm. It is the largest European acquisition by an Indian company.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories bought the group from 3i, the UK-listed private equity group, which was advised by Bear Stearns and Sal.Oppenheim.
