Rover set to be first into pension safety net

MG Rover, the UK's last remaining large-scale, independent car manufacturer, could become the first company to use the Pension Protection Fund, the British government's safety-net for collapsed companies' retirement schemes.

Rover today appointed accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest insolvency practice, to advise the board of directors on the current position of the company.
