Royal London Asset Management, an investment manager, has welcomed a potential rival offer for UK packaging company RPC. The new bid could trump a £3.3bn offer from private equity giant Apollo Global Management.

Berry Global, an Indiana-based packaging company, said on January 31 that it is “considering a possible offer in cash” for RPC and has requested due diligence information from the company.
