Royal London Asset Management has moved to free its portfolio managers to focus on strategy and stock-picking by forging a central dealing team under the leadership of a Deutsche Asset Management trading chief.

The investment group has appointed Cathy Gibson to the new post of head of dealing. She will start on February 19 and run a team of four traders investing across equities and fixed income, a spokeswoman from the group confirmed.
