Royal Mail gets £1.75bn pension rescue

The Royal Mail pension scheme has received a cash injection from the UK government of £1.75bn (€2.5bn), while the BT pension fund deficit has been slashed by £1.8bn since last year.

Royal Mail has been granted £1.75bn in cash from the government to help plug its pension deficit of £5.6bn and improve the postal service.
