Altimo, a Russian private equity firm that has just opened a London office, has appointed an international advisory board that includes former UK Foreign Secretary Lord Douglas Hurd.

Altimo, which focuses solely on telecommunications investments in Russia, Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, will invite the board to meet three to four times a year to advise on the firm's international strategy and relationships with key partners, including governments and regulators.
