The director of pension services at Standard & Poor's has left to join consultancy Watson Wyatt following the ratings agency's decision to shelve plans to launch an institutional fund manager research service.

Jim MacLachlan has joined Watson Wyatt as a senior investment consultant in the global manager research team.
