Science Applications International Corporation, the largest privately held US defence contractor, is once again looking to take the employee-owned company public.
SAIC postponed its original IPO plans nine months ago due to unexpected costs and other troubles with its 2003 contract with the Greek government to install a command-and-control security system for the 2004 Olympic Games. In SAIC's earnings report released in December, the Greek government refused to make payments for the parts of the system which they said included numerous "omissions and deviations" from the original software proposal.
