Salaries jump £1m for UK government’s Brexit planners

Government's Department for Exiting the EU relies heavily on secondees from the country's giants of consulting

The wage bill for UK staff helping the government to steer the country through its withdrawal from the European Union has jumped by over £1m.

Pay for those working in the UK government's Department for Exiting the European Union rose from £2.9m to £4.1m between December and May, according to figures published on Thursday on DExEU's website.
