Joe Santomo, the highly regarded former head of credit derivatives at brokerage GFI has set up on his own as JAS Global Credit, and is set to partner with another firm in the coming weeks.

Santomo, who left GFI in last July, has received approval from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to broker credit derivatives in the inter-dealer market.
