Schroders, the UK's largest listed fund manager, is putting its shoulder to the wheel to back government efforts to reduce sugar consumption.

The government's health watchdog, Public Health England, today unveiled the detail of its plans to set limits on the amount of sugar that popular food products should contain. Its targets are voluntary, with no obligation on food manufacturers to comply - but the industry's lobby group has said it will work with the government on its plans.
