Donald Trump’s surprise US election win could prove an unexpected boon for the City of London amid the uncertainty surrounding its future relationship with the European Union, top buyside executives have predicted.
Saker Nusseibeh, chief executive of £28.6 billion fund house Hermes Investment Management, told FN on November 9 that Trump's protectionist stance, which during his campaign included calling for a ban on Muslim immigration and imposing tariffs on imports, may work in the City's favour.
