Scottish buyout firms wade into independence debate

British private equity trade body says its Scottish members are almost all in favour of remaining in the UK

The British private equity trade body has said that its Scottish members are almost all in favour of remaining in the UK ahead of a referendum this week that could see Scotland cut its ties with England after a union spanning more than 300 years.

"Our Scottish members are almost universally in favour of remaining part of the union," said Tom Allchorne, a spokesman for the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
