SEC names acting chief of mutual fund unit

The Securities and Exchange Commission, the US regulator, has appointed Susan Ferris Wyderko as acting director of its investment management division that oversees mutual funds and investment advisers.

Wyderko is a 20-year veteran of the SEC and was most recently director of the office of investor education and assistance. She previously served as a counsel for former SEC chairman Arthur Levitt and as an assistant general counsel at the SEC.
