Regulators eyeing trading limits during volatile times

US reguators are aiming to put in place new measures to prevent another flash crash

Regulators are asking about a new model for curbing stock market volatility that would limit trading within certain price bands that revolve around a true market value.

Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Mary Schapiro on Tuesday asked representatives of major trading exchanges about how such price limits would work compared with temporary trading halts during unstable market periods.
