The price of bitcoin could be ready to move through a new record of $20,000 this week if the start of trading on the world’s biggest futures exchange is any indication, MarketWatch reports.
January futures opened at $20,650 at 6 pm eastern time on Sunday in their debut on the CME Group’s Chicago Mercantile Exchange CME. The level marked a session high, but an hour and a half later, it swung to a low $18,345. That contract since recovered some ground, trading at $19,360, with roughly 637 lots having traded hands.
