Chip Seelig, the founder of Madstone Films, an independent cinema chain, and a former senior fixed income banker at Goldman Sachs, has joined as a managing director at Soros Capital Management, the recently formed capital management division of Soros Fund Management.

Seelig was chief financial officer of the fixed income, currency and commodities (FICC) group at Goldman Sachs and a member of the FICC operating committee. He was previously head of its mortgage and municipal businesses and co-head of the Asian special situations group.
