UBS has rehired its former chief executive, Sergio Ermotti, less than two weeks after its $3.2bn emergency takeover of rival Credit Suisse.

Ermotti, who spent nine years at the helm of UBS before stepping down in 2020, will take over from Ralph Hamers, the bank said in a 29 March statement.
