SG chief Debonneuil killed in car accident

Xavier Debonneuil, chief executive officer of Société Générale's corporate and investment banking division, died in a car accident in France.

Debonneuil, 54, joined Société Générale in 1985 from the Banque de France, where he was head of the econometric and research department and advisor to the governor. He spent five years as deputy head of foreign exchange and money markets, before becoming head of the forex and interest rates group in 1990.
