SG Cowen, an arm of Société Générale, has made its first leveraged finance appointment in Europe as part of a planned global expansion to build a research-driven and customer-focused franchise.

London-based Anders Persson has been picked to work alongside Tom Egan in New York as vice-president in the group's high yield research division.
