McDonalds has found a buyer for Aroma, the coffee chain, six months after the US fast-food group found an adviser, SG Hambros, to work on the deal.
When McDonalds acquired Aroma in 1999, it paid £10m (€16m) for the business. Cavendish Corporate Finance advised Aroma at the time. However, after McDonalds acquired the coffee business, Aroma's value dropped significantly. Caffe Nero Group of the UK has now agreed to buy some of the business, and is reported to be paying just £3.5m.
