Shearman & Sterling restructuring partner Helena Potts has quit the US law firm to join rival Paul Hastings in London.

Potts’ exit comes amid New York-headquartered Shearman’s merger talks with transatlantic firm Hogan Lovells over a deal that could create one of the world’s largest law firms with revenue of more than $3bn.
