Henderson Global Investors, the UK fund manager, has hired Jane Shoemake, previously at rival Threadneedle Asset Management, as an investment director for its UK thematic equities team.

She will join the firm in January 2006 and will work alongside Alistair Sayer, investment director for multi-strategy equities, who joined Henderson from JP Morgan Asset Management in March.
