Short biased hedge funds suffer setback

Short-biased hedge funds went from being the best performing hedge fund strategy last year to the worst performing in January, according to latest figures from the Hennessee hedge funds advisory group.

Short-biased funds suffered the setback last month as investors abandoned short positions amid the market rally at the start of the year. The US advisory company said that many short-biased funds therefore missed out on the market sell-off in late January.
