SIA chief issues threat over EU market directives

The US securities industry trade body has threatened that Wall Street brokers and US issuers could take business away from Europe's markets if two EU policy proposals remain unchanged.

Richard Thornburgh, chairman of the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and chief risk officer at Credit Suisse, has warned that two EU directives must be amended "to avoid harm to Europe's capital markets".
