Silver Lake Partners recruits former HP head

Silver Lake Partners, a private equity firm that specialises in technology investments, has recruited the former president of computer business Hewlett Packard to identify potential investment opportunities for the company.

Michael Capellas spent four years as MCI's president and chief executive, overseeing its reorganization and merger with telecoms rival Verizon Communications. He formerly was the chair and chief executive at Compaq Computer and also served as president of Hewlett-Packard.
