Singapore manager launches first hedge fund

Singapore-based fund manager PointWorth Management is launching its first long/short hedge fund investing in Asia Pacific.

PointWorth, established in 1994, has traditionally been a long-only manager buying and holding stocks that are in favour. The ability to go short means a manager can also sell stocks that are out of favour and that the manager does not physically own. Morgan Stanley Asia will act as prime broker to the new Boulevard Asia fund.
