US managers may cut charges for new products to 3bps in 2016 and Europeans are also making reductions

Fees for US smart beta exchange-traded funds have been slashed by 90% to 9 basis points over five years, according to analysts at Sanford C Bernstein.

Analyst Inigo Fraser-Jenkins says managers could cut fees for new products to 3 basis points by the end of this year, at which point their use by institutions is likely to rise dramatically.
