Snags hit split-cap investment trusts

Three of the most heavily geared split-cap investment trusts, which invest in other split caps, have already hit problems.

Jupiter's Investment Trust of Investment Trusts breached its banking covenants last month. Geared Income, run by Tony Reid's private BFS Group, postponed its dividend nine days ago and faces a reconstruction after breaking its bank covenants. Last week, Aberdeen Preferred Income suspended its dividend payment.
