Societe Generale plans to slash 600 branches after Credit du Nord merger

The combined network would shrink from about 2,100 branches at the end of 2020 to about 1,500 at the end of 2025

Societe Generale has said it expects to cut 600 branches in France following a merger of its retail network with that of Credit du Nord.

The French bank said on 7 December the combined network would shrink from about 2,100 branches at the end of 2020 to about 1,500 at the end of 2025.
