SocGen's new private bank eyes club deals

The French bank will pool funds from ultra wealthy clients with the goal of targeting a range of deals, as a new cross-selling effort takes off across the industry

Societe Generale’s freshly-launched Private Investment Banking service, which brings together private and investment bankers to work with ultra high-net worth clients, will offer club deals to family offices and holding companies, the division’s head said on Wednesday.

As part of the French bank's new cross-selling effort, the latest in a string of such initiatives in the industry, the bank will pool funds from ultra wealthy clients. The goal is to target deals ranging from traditional investment avenues for high net worth clients - such as private equity co-investments - to more investment banking-related opportunities.
