SoftBank set to take a stake in Steve Mnuchin’s PE fund

Softbank Group said on 22 September that it would invest in a new $2.5bn private equity fund launched by Steven Mnuchin, who served as US Treasury secretary under president Donald Trump.

The Japanese group didn't say how big a stake it would hold in the fund, Liberty Strategic Capital, whose other shareholders also include the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
