Austrian banker denies ‘clandestine’ Madoff pact

Sonja Kohn is alleged to have received $27m in payments from Bernard Madoff’s London business for partially plagiarised research

A former banker with connections to Bernard Madoff, who allegedly received $27m in payments for partially plagiarised research that was a cover for referrals, has denied any impropriety in a London trial set up to reclaim the funds.

Sonja Kohn, an Austrian banker who introduced wealthy clients to Madoff's New York investment management business, appeared as a witness in her own defence in a civil case at the Commercial Courts in London yesterday.
