Soros Fund Management has hired one of the most prominent women in the hedge fund industry as its new chief investment officer, according to someone close to the matter.

Dawn Fitzpatrick was head of investments at UBS Asset Management, where she was global head of equities, multi-asset and the O’Connor hedge fund business. Fitzpatrick is the seventh person to hold the job of CIO at Soros since April 2000, when investor Stanley Druckenmiller quit to run his own firm.
