Renowned hedge fund investor George Soros has transferred nearly $18bn, the bulk of his wealth, to the philanthopic foundation that he founded, writes Juliet Chung and Anupreeta Das for The Wall Street Journal.
The move by the billionaire investor transforms both the Open Society Foundations and the investment firm that Soros founded, and vaults the former into second spot behind the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in terms of US philanthropic bodies by assets.
